Confident, understated, and deeply collaborative, LIGHTWORKS reflects the character of San Diego itself. This team is somehow both equally laidback and mind-blowingly accomplished, having just celebrated 25 years in business with a fun, vibrant surfer theme. It all started with an electrician (Founder, Troy) and a lighting specialist (Co-Founder, Todd) crossing paths on the same, behind-schedule, complex job sites with frustrated clients. They knew even back then that it wasn't a lack of talent… it was a lack of coordination. And so LIGHTWORKS was born — from the first-hand experience, and now long-held belief, that the best homes deserve better.

The possibilities only grew from there. In fact, long before "design/build integration" became commonplace, LIGHTWORKS kept following their original instinct. Maybe homeowners didn’t need any of the different, independent “experts” to explain one house. So they started bringing shading, AV, networking and controls to the same table — long before others realized they belonged there together. Of course this singular approach is now every Guild Company’s North Star! But we’re honored to have early, visionary trailblazers like LIGHTWORKS help shape the Guild’s next chapter.
