In 1988, sitting at his kitchen table, Kim Michels officially started Electronic Environments. With a background in technical design for sets and theater, Kim set out with about 4 employees and no sales department whatsoever to provide clients with a delightful and collaborative experience exploring the power of audio and video in their homes. They’ve remained focused on just that ever since, eschewing any traditional approach to sales and instead, remaining totally dedicated to service and skill.
Electronic Environments truly sees themselves as master craftspeople. Technology may change rapidly and constantly, but delivering beautiful work inside of gorgeous homes requires consistency and finesse over many, many years. Which is how Kim’s small start in 1988 grew to a team of over 70, in multiple offices, over the course of 30 years. Not to mention the “EE” team is made up of proud New Yorkers – they don’t own a single company vehicle.
